USB powered
The CI1 is powered by a computer’s USB. And by simply connecting the CI1 to a USB port the user gets immediate full control of Cubase. Even the +48 V phantom power of the two microphone inputs doesn’t require an additional power supply. With the CI1 being fully USB-powered, it’s no problem to record music whenever and wherever without having to find a mains outlet. The user can simply plug the CI1 into a notebook, connect a microphone or guitar and start jamming on the spot.

Two high-quality mic preamps
The CI1 provides two fantastic-sounding microphone inputs comprising balanced XLR/jack combo connectors and high-quality microphone preamps, each equipped with individual gain control and a Peak LED. With the onboard +48 V phantom power, the user can record at home or on the move using just about any dynamic or condenser microphone.
Direct connection of guitars
The first input channel comes with a dedicated high-impedance switch, letting the user jack an electric guitar or bass directly into the CI1 via the XLR/jack combo input.
Optional accessories

Hardware latency-free monitoring

With the Mix level control, the user can adjust the balance between the input signal and the playback signal from the software application, so that the input signal can be monitored without any latency.
Individual master level and phones level
The Line outputs of the CI1 are equipped with balanced TRS connectors, providing professional output studio connectivity. The Phones output is also equipped with a professional 6.3 mm TRS connector. The signal levels of the Master outputs and the Phones output can be adjusted independently. The headphones signal is not affected by the Master volume control.

Virtual Keyboard

Controller Mode
The Controller Mode provides a means to assign external controllers or keyboards to the most-used parameters in Sequel LE such as mixer volume, track effects, solo/mute buttons and even more. The ultra easy-to-use Controller Learn function allows the user to assign a controller by clicking the parameter and moving the desired knob, slider, key or button. WaveLab LE 7 not only allows you to edit CD-quality audio material on two tracks, but also enhances recordings, using more than ten plug-ins that include several effects taken from our professional music software, Cubase. In addition, there is the integrated podcast function which allows for sharing music and voice recordings in the internet.
Mac OS X support and new layout
Probably the most important new feature in WaveLab LE 7 is the compatibility to Mac OS X operating systems, which follows Steinberg’s goal to make all products available on both PC and Mac platforms. Furthermore, WaveLab LE 7 has been completely rewritten and comes with a new, modern and easy-to-use user interface, which is based on the new WaveLab 7 family design.
Convincing plug-in set

Workspace concept and flexible window architecture

The new window structure offers the possibility to drag and drop program windows, resize them and place them anywhere required within the WaveLab LE 7 workspace.

The Audio Montage of WaveLab LE 7 is the central working area, where audio files can be edited. The redesigned master section allows the use of up to three slots for the integration of plug-ins.

But there’s even more to it than that. WaveLab LE 7 also offers comprehensive support for the creation and publishing of podcasts.
