The Versatile & Flexible Mic!
The SM7B is a dynamic microphone with a very smooth, flat, wide-range frequency response. It is meticulously designed for the most exacting music and speech requirements in professional audio applications. The cartridge has been updated from the original SM7B with improved shielding against electromagnetic hum generated by computer monitors, neon lights, and other electrical devices. A popular choice for broadcast applications, the SM7B is often seen in studio situations parked above hi-hats, in front of bass cabinets, and as a vocal mic for rock vocalists. The SM7B excels on many fronts!

Features

  • Flat, wide-range frequency response for exceptionally clean and natural reproduction of both music and speech
  • Bass rolloff and mid-range emphasis (presence boost) controls with graphic display of response setting
  • Improved rejection of electromagnetic hum, optimized for shielding against broadband interference emitted by computer monitors
  • Internal "air suspension" shock isolation virtually eliminates mechanical noise transmission
  • Highly effective pop filter eliminates need for any add-on protection against explosive breath sounds, even for close-up vocals or narration
  • Now shipping with the A7WS detachable windscreen, designed to reduce plosive sounds and gives a warmer tone for close-talk vocals
  • Yoke mounting with captive stand nut for easy mounting and dismounting provides precise control of microphone position

  • Rugged construction and excellent cartridge protection for outstanding reliability

Broadcast Standard
The SM7B is often seen in radio studios, as its designed to fare well in a broadcast environment. The A7WS windscreen reduces plosive sounds and gives a warmer tone for close-up vocals or narration. The cartridge has been updated from the original SM7B with improved shielding against electromagnetic hum generated by computer monitors, neon lights, and other electrical devices.

Versatile
In recent years, the SM7B has seen time in front of rock vocalists and also does an excellent job of handling low-frequency instruments such as bass guitar. The SM7B has also proven successful on unlikely sources such as hi-hat.

Rugged Reliability
Like all Shure mics, the SM7B is built like a tank, meaning that you can travel with it from gig to gig and rest assured that it will last. Shure mics are famous for their bulletproof construction, and the SM7B is no exception. Night after night, the SM7B will perform on stage and in the studio!
