Creative Sampling Experiments
Omnisphere's huge library is teeming with creative sampling experiments and thousands of patches designed to inspire. During the years of Omnisphere's development, Spectrasonics pioneered several new types of sampling for Omnisphere's core library. Composite Morphing Technique, or CMT, is one such innovation - with this technique, Sepctrasonics created unique "psychoacoustic" sounds and soundsources by morphing the harmonic characteristics of one instrument to another.

STEAM Engine Technology
Omnisphere debuts Spectrasonics' new STEAM Engine core technology that will now be used as the basis for all of their performance instruments. This new technlology offers many development possibilities for Spectrasonics, helping them respond faster to future technology changes - such as the release of a major new operating system. They are creating instruments that they can fully support across industry changes, and that will ultimately allow them to make transitions and innovations faster in the future. With this new, flexible, open core, patches can also be shared across hosts and computer platforms, and Spectrasonics can add new patches and sounds to the core library, making Omnisphere seemingly and their other VIs seemingly unlimited.
