Electrocompaniet ECI-5mkII er en balansert, integrert forsterker på 2 x 120 watt, og annen generasjon integrerte forsterkere fra Electrocompaniet. ECI-5mkII tar gjerne de tyngste løftene og de krevende belastningene på strak arm. Samme teknologi som andre større Electrocompani-forsterkere gjør at også denne klarer belastninger helt nede mot 0.5 ohm grunnet sin overdrevne strømforsyningskrets (FTT-design). ECI-5mkII kom på markedet i juni 2010, og således er det ikke gjort så mange tester av denne ennå, men forgjengeren var en gjenganger på alle "Best Buy" oppsummeringer i en årrekke.

ECI-3 har inngang for CD, TUNER, TAPE, DVD, VCR, HT og har selvsagt medfølgende fjernkontroll for bekvem betjening. Til profesjonelt bruk har den selvsagt balanserte inngang, slik at man kan koble seg direkte fra en miksepult, DAC eller lignende utstyr.

Vi kan også anbefale Electrocompaniet ECI-5 mkII sammen med Acoustic Energys passive studiomonitorer, eller mindre løsninger fra NHT og Westlake Audio.

The Electrocompaniet ECI 5 MK II is a DC coupled high performance, fully balanced, remote controlled integrated stereo amplifier – rated at 2 x 120 Watts.

This amplifier replaces the ECI 4 / ECI 5 that was originally introduced in 2000. In this MK II version Electrocompaniet has been using our newest technology to enhance the details and dynamics – in many ways this is a brand new amplifier.

More about the technology in the new ECI 5 MK II

The new ECI-5 MK II has a more powerful output stage compared to the existing ECI-5. Twice the number of output devices have been utilised to improved bass control and stability when driving heavy loads.

To improve the current, bank of reservoir capacitors is increased to 80 000 micro farad which is fed by a powerful 500Va transformer. With these power resources the ECI-5 becomes capable of reproducing the most dynamic recordings.

ECI-5 MK II also has a new and improved overload detection system that allows us to remove the output relay. Hence the output stage is connected directly to the speaker with no relay controls in the signal path deteriorates over time.

All input switching is handled by high-end analogue switches with virtually no distortion and a life time of trouble free operation.

The input stage is built from discrete circuits running in class A with no feedback. The output stage runs with moderate amounts of negative feedback, carefully balanced between good bass extension and control, a detailed open midrange and a warm detailed top.

A new and larger display improves readability from your listening position - the display can be dimmed.

The ECI-5 MK II has the following outputs: Balanced, single and REC. Balanced motorized volume control that does not degrade the sonic qualities of the unit. The balanced output of the ECI 5 can feed an additional power amplifier in a bi-amped set-up
