Die Cast Capabilities: Sonodyne 50 and 100 enclosures are aluminum die cast, built in house. Die casting offers a huge performance advantage for smaller monitors for it provides maximum internal volume compared to thick sections of wood, a tighter seal and more rigid structure compared to wood, has fewer resonances and less ringing found in wood or folded metal structures and offers longer life and durability as small speakers tend to be moved about frequently.

Future Music Review
So, having decided that we liked listening to other people's work on them the real acid test was to stoke up the computer and try recording with them. Again, the Sonodynes impressed: whether mixing, playing, or recording, they hit the spot every time. Getting the sound was straightforward, no dead spots and no moments of indecision (above and beyond the normal ones that is!). Everyone who's heard them has liked them and enjoyed the experience of playing to them. Their superb precision tells you right away if you've picked the wrong mic or the wrong EQ.

In these days of ever diminishing budgets workflow is king and anything that helps you move things along a bit faster is worth its weight in gold, or at least hard cash. These speakers come highly recommended.

At any price these would be great speakers; at this price it's hard to think of anything that can touch them.

To say I'm impressed with the new Sonodyne monitors would be an understatement. When I first tried them out I thought, great, another studio monitor. I've heard them all-but-these are the most natural sounding speakers I have heard yet. No hype at any frequency and they're smooth from the top to the bottom at any volume level. The imaging is amazing too. I tried to find something I didn't like about them and couldn't. They very well could be the new standard in mixing.
