Seymour Duncan Pickups - It's all about the tone.
Seymour Duncan's APH-1 Alnico II Pro has found its way into the axes of guitarists such as Slash (Guns 'N Roses and Velvet Revolver) to Queensryche's Michael Wilton. Perfect for any genre from jazz to blues to classic rock and anything in between, the APH-1 is characterized by a warm sound and moderate output. The APH-1 is equipped with four-conductor cable to facilitate a variety of pickup switching configurations. For tones that can be classic and modern at the same time, the APH-1 fits the bill!

The Alnico II magnet and moderate windings yield a warm, sweet tone with more natural string vibration for great sustain.
Classic rock players who get their distortion from the amp rather than the pickup love the APH-1. It allows them to back off the crunch and get beautiful clean tones with softer attack. Compared to the '59, the Alnico II Pro has a rounder sound with a spongier bass response. The APH-1 comes with four-conductor hookup cable.

Setup
The APH-1 is often used in both neck and bridge positions, or in the neck with a higher output pickup like an SH-11 Custom Custom or SHPG-1b Pearly Gates for heavier rock or hotter blues sounds from the bridge position. The APH-1 works well with brighter toned instruments and responds well to maple and ebony fingerboards. It also works great with hollow- and semi-hollowbody guitars.

Trembucker

This is a term used by Seymour Duncan to describe humbucking pickups that have a slightly wider bobbin and wider pole-to-pole spread. These are specifically meant to be used as replacement pickups on guitars that are equipped with Fender-spaced or Floyd Rose-style vibrato tailpieces. The string spread on such guitars is slightly wider than that of guitars Tune-o-matic or similar bridges. On standard humbuckers, the bobbins typically measure 2.695 inches, while “trembuckers” typically measure 2.780 inches. String spacing on a regular humbucker is usually two inches or less, while a Trembucker can accommodate spacing of two inches or larger.
